Despite the stance taken by the People's Party during the election campaign in Switzerland there is unlikely to be any change to the relationship between Switzerland and the EU, says Diana Wallis MEP, Vice-President of the European Parliament's delegation to Switzerland
With the Swiss People's Party improving its number of MPs in Sunday's elections to become the lead party, she commented, "Most Swiss recognise the value of the relationship with the EU particularly the success of the first set of Bilateral Agreements. It is absolutely unthinkable that these would be threatened by any changes in the complexion of the new government. It should be business as usual."
