Diana backs launch of compensation guide for UK holidaymakers

November 6, 2003 12:00 AM

With more and more people from Yorkshire and the Humber travelling to the continent, both for work and pleasure, there is an increased likelihood that people will suffer accidents whilst abroad. To this end a book has recently been published, which seeks to aid British holidaymakers if they suffer personal injury whilst in Europe and local MEP Diana Wallis was on hand to support the guide at its launch in Brussels.

The book, published by the PEOPIL Research Group, is entitled 'Personal Injury Compensation in Europe'. It provides a comprehensive country-by-country guide to personal injury claims in eighteen European countries.

Speaking at the launch Diana commented: 'The number of personal injury cases involving Yorkshire and Humber residents abroad is increasing and this is an area of growing importance to many people who are affected, as my constituency mailbag will testify! If you travel extensively throughout Europe or are working on the continent for any period of time then this book would prove a worthwhile resource. As someone who travels to the continent regularly for work it is always helpful to know in advance what my rights are should I have an accident'.

The book can be ordered through your local bookshop by quoting the title 'Personal Injury Compensation in Europe' published by Kluwer Legal Publishers ISBN 90-13-00484-9.
