Analysis of Euro MPs voting over the past 4 years show that Liberal Democrat, Diana Wallis, is the region's 'greenest'.
In an independent analysis carried out by Friends of the Earth, Liberal Democrat Diana Wallis scored a full 100 per cent., beating the next MEP by 10 per cent (see below for record of all the region's MEPs). The analysis is based on voting records on key environmental votes over the last four years.
Diana Wallis MEP said, "The European Union has been a key driver in environmental laws, not least in cleaning up the region's beaches, rivers and drinking water. I am pleased that my support for environmental issues has been recognised in this analysis."
"I think that people know that the most pro-environmental party with a realistic chance of winning European Parliament seats in this region are the Liberal Democrats."
