Opportunity to argue case for Europe must be taken

Commenting on reports that the Prime Minister is set to unveil plans for a UK referendum on the EU constitution in a Commons statement tomorrow, Tuesday, the region's Liberal Democrat Euro MP Diana Wallis said:
"If these reports are true then I am delighted because I have been campaigning for a referendum on the EU Constitution for a long time.
"The opportunity must be taken to argue the case for Europe with both vigour and commitment.
"The Prime Minister when he took up office stated his belief that Britain should be at the heart of Europe. A referendum would allow him and all of us who share that view to take our case to the British people."
