Diana speaks at Northern Dimension seminar in Finland

Liberal Democrat MEP, Diana Wallis, spoke at a seminar organised by the Finnish Parliament on the EU's Northern Dimension programme. The Northern Dimension programme reflects the EU's relations with Russia (and particularly North-west Russia) in the Baltic Sea region and Arctic Sea region and was set up under the Finnish Presidency of the EU in the 1990s.
Diana Wallis warned that there was a danger that the programme was being seen as a particularly 'Finnish topic' and needed to be broadened out into the Parliaments of other countries. She said she would press for the UK Government to give proper consideration to the Northern Dimension during its Presidency of the EU in the second half of this year.
