About 35 people from across Yorkshire, including large contingents from the Shelley Community Association and the Swanland Village Association, visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg last week. The group heard from Diana Wallis MEP and visited the Parliament's chamber where they saw the historic vote which gave the go-ahead for Bulgaria and Romania to join the EU.
Diana Wallis said, "We run these sponsored trips twice a year and they give local people an opportunity to see at first hand the work of their MEP and the activities in the Parliament."
