Euro MP in Doncaster to support 'Axe the Tax' campaign

Candidates and activists in DoncasterDiana Wallis MEP was in Doncaster on Friday to lend her support to the local party's 'Axe the Tax' campaign. Local party activists along with the party's Parliamentary candidates from Doncaster were in the town's market getting signatures for a petition against the Council Tax.

Diana Wallis siad: "There is enormous disquiet about the Council Tax as it penalises people on low incomes. They pay a fat higher proportion of their income in tax than the very rich. A Local Income Tax is based very simply on the ability topay so is much fairer."
