Grimsby and Cleethorpes' Liberal Democrat Euro MP, Diana Wallis, spoke at the Liberal Democrats HQ on Kingsway Cleethorpes on the topic of the 'future for Europe'.
Diana Wallis MEP for Yorkshire & the Humber met with Liberal Democrat members from both sides of the Humber to discuss the future for Europe now that the proposed EU Constitution has been rejected by the French and Dutch. She explained where she thought the EU should go from here and spoke about the future enlargement of the EU?
Diana Wallis MEP said, "We still need to find a set of rules for an enlarged EU despite the French and Dutch no votes. I am disappointed that we will not get our referendum here which we were promised by Tony Blair because in this country we need a debate about our relationship with the EU. It is not always clear to people, like those in Grimsby and Cleethorpes for example how they benefit economically from membership of the EU"
