Diana Wallis MEP, Liberal Democrat for Yorkshire & the Humber, met the Dean of Sheffield Cathedral, Peter Bradley, yesterday to learn more about the Cathedral's Development Project.
The project will, amongst other things, provide for a new community resource centre and is using of EU Objective 1 funding. The EU in fact is the largest donor to the project.
Diana Wallis MEP said following the visit:
"This is an excellent regeneration project which is helping to alleviate some of the problems of the inner-city through the support and care to vulnerable and homeless people. The whole Development Project is really exciting and is going to be a wonderful addition to the amenities in Sheffield. The Dean and his team deserve a lot of praise for effecting their vision so well."
