Chiantishire - the preferred option for people in Leeds and Sheffield
The majority of people in Sheffield (55 per cent) and Leeds (53 per cent) are 'Mr and Mrs Chiantishire' or 'euro enthusiasts'. This is according to the BBC2's interactive test in which over 80,000 people across the UK took part to gauge their attitudes to Europe on Monday evening's programme 'How Euro are you?'.
The Lib Dem Euro MP for both cities, Diana Wallis, said:
"This result shows that there is a pretty positive attitude from people locally towards Europe contrary to what one reads in the 'Letters' pages. This seems to reflect the population as a whole"
Results for Sheffield:
Mr and Mrs Chiantishire 55% (euro enthusiasts)
