Lib Dem Euro MP sends best wishes as new Archbishop of York is installed

Diana Wallis Liberal Democrat MEP for the region has sent her best wishes to the new Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu.

Diana Wallis MEP said:

"As an elected representative for the whole of Yorkshire & the Humber region I am constantly reminded of just how diverse this area is, but it is a diversity which makes my job all the more enriching. I hope the new Archbishop gets to feel that too.

"Since my re-election in 2004 I have been campaigning on climate change awareness and this is something that I know Dr. Hope (previous Archbishop of York) was involved with through Operation Noah so our paths crossed. I was delighted to read that Dr. John Sentamu intends to take a strong stand against homophobia, something which would get my full backing."
