Local Liberal Democrat Euro MP welcomes election of Ming Campbell as party's new leader

The Liberal Democrat Euro MP for Yorkshire & the Humber, Diana Wallis, has welcomed the election of Ming Campbell as the party's new leader.

Diana Wallis MEP, who supported Ming Campbell in his leadership bid, said:

"I am delighted that Ming Campbell has been elected the new Leader of the Liberal Democrats. It is an opportunity for us to put the events of the last few weeks behind us and starting looking to the future.

"Party morale is in pretty good shape but it is important we re-establish trust with the people. Ming Campbell can help us do that and lead us to some exciting times ahead."
