Local Liberal Democrat Euro MP, Diana Wallis, made a trip to Wakefield on Friday 24th March.
In the morning and early afternoon, Diana Wallis MEP visited Wakefield Girls School.
At 10.50 she met Lynne Staveley, Deputy Head and then spoke to a group of about 120 girls from Year 9, as part of the Personal and Social Education (PSE) curriculum, about the role of a Member of the European Parliament.
Later Diana Wallis had lunch in the staff dining room and after lunch talked to individual students who wanted to know more about her work in Brussels and Yorkshire.
In the afternoon Diana Wallis campaigned with local Liberal Democrat councillor Peter Walker in Ossett market as part of the Liberal Democrats' campaign to clean up Wakefield's streets through the introduction of a small charge on plastic carrier bags
