A new PEOPIL publication which will help lawyers and insurers handle personal injury claims wherever they occur in Europe will be launched in the European Parliament today Thursday 23rd March.
Fatal Accidents Claims and Secondary Victims is the new publication from a distinguished team from 18 jurisdictions working under the guidance of PEOPIL - the Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers which has its headquarters in Birmingham, UK.
Diana Wallis, UK Lib Dem MEP and her party's Spokesperson on the Legal Affairs Committee, said in advance of the launch which she is hosting in the European Parliament:
"I am delighted to be hosting the launch of this publication in the European Parliament. As we encourage our citizens to move freely across the EU we need to make sure that there is much more know ledge of the different legal systems when things go wrong. This is a practical contribution to European legal cooperation and knowledge."
Dr Wolfgang Resch, Executive Director of PEOPIL said of its publication "with the growth in travel, and of EU citizens living outside their native jurisdiction, personal injury claims that involve choice of jurisdiction is becoming more and more common. Lawyers and insurers need to have comparative information - and we have been able to provide it with the help of leading lawyers from across Europe."
The launch will take place in the European Parliament at 12 midday on Thursday 23rd March in room ASP5G375
