Members of the Leeds Law Society met local Lib Dem Euro MP, Diana Wallis, in Brussels today Wednesday 7 June as part of their Leeds Legal campaign.
The Leeds Law Society and regional office of the Law Society of England and Wales have joined forces with the corporate legal profession in Leeds to promote the city and its legal services.
In a campaign entitled Leeds Legal, work is underway dedicated to raising the profile of the Leeds legal profession and promoting the wealth of legal talent within the city. The objective states: "The cream of the Leeds legal profession will work together as an alliance to promote the high levels of service, expertise, no-nonsense advice and value for money service provided by the city's law firms."
Leeds Legal was officially launched on 27th April in the Houses of Parliament and now the Leeds Legal team is in Brussels as Deborah Green, Yorkshire regional manager for the Law Society, takes out a delegation of people involved in the project.
Leeds Lib Dem MEP, Diana Wallis, a member of the Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee and a former solicitor herself, said in advance of the meeting:
"Leeds already has an excellent profile as a financial and legal centre but I welcome this initiative to highlight that importance within a European and indeed global context."
