Euro MP gives support to fans in their bid to save Hull City

Supporters of Hull City FC who are fighting to save their club from extinction, have been boosted by the support of local Euro MP Diana Wallis.

Tomorrow sees the club facing a winding-up order in the High Court but Diana Wallis MEP (Liberal Democrat) has lent her support to Tigers fans who have formed themselves into a co-operative.

Diana Wallis said:

"The fans have shown their support in their thousands at every home match despite the mediocre fare that's been offered to them over the past few seasons.

"In return the club has lurched from crisis to crisis due to mismanagement and downright incompetence.

"In my view the fans deserve more and I fully support this move to take a stake in the club.

"Whilst this is essentially a domestic rather than European matter, I wanted to send my support to the many fans who have contacted me and, at the very least, we must ensure that any changes to the transfer system do not unduly disadvantage clubs like Hull City."
